garden

When it comes to the garden path we want to lead you right up it.

The heady days of sweltering June saw our collection of planters, tubs and watering cans dwindle quickly.

There was almost a national emergency when Lady Ernshaw-Fansifull pitched up with half the WI and started a run on galvanized French foot baths. Orders were flying and we even had to press our 18th century fax machine back into service. It was like the trading floors of Wall Street as bidding turned into a brief but bloody battle when Mrs Skirthem threw a cup cake at Sir John St John John our local magistrate. Fortunately, he took the law into his own hands (not Mrs Law, that's just an ugly rumour) and being of portly stature was able to consume all the cakes in mid air before they did too much damage.

Thankfully our trusty shop staff were only seriously wounded and we were able to carry out the necessary amputations on the spot ... well done, chaps, admirable dedication.

Fortunately, there are few things we like more than lovely garden antiques, right down to stunning hand made Victorian flower pots (proof that even the most humble item can achieve beauty) so we always have plenty in stock to thrill and delight the garden crazy amongst you.

The WI have gone orienteering in Borneo until mid September, so it's safe to pop in and see what we've got.
