savon de marseilles
This month we are featuring Savon de Marseille.
Natural. Simple. Pure.
Only soap made in the city bears the stamp of "Savon de Marseille" and the locals work hard to protect their ancient brand (mean looking old ladies with rolling pins, that sort of thing). This soap is still made the way the Romans made it with simple pure olive oil. There really are not many soaps that as pure or as good for your skin.
The big bars are flaked and stored in linen bags (yes, we have those too).
"Savon de Marseille" can be used to clean just about anything, and because the oil has been boiled, the bars last pretty much indefinately.
Being a neutral colour, they blend comfortably in any bathroom and look very stylish.
Packaged by Drawer, they make a lovely, natural gift.
