Willies Chocolate - Warm Your Winter

Autumn will be along soon, and you'll be needing a shot or two of the elixir from Devon - Willie's Wonky Chocolate.

Words which describe this stuff include   WOW!!!!, OMG!!!!, Heaven can't be this good?!?!?  that sort of thing.  Actually, most who try it are paralysed with sheer ecstasy.

Don't put it off any longer, come and get some while it's still legal to enjoy something this much.

SO WHAT DO WE SELL?
Hmm. Well, it's eclectic, diverse, ever changing, always a surprise, hugely exciting, always old, worn and rustic, hand made, crafted, fine, artistic, stylish, rare, collectable, an amazing find, unique and usually old. (Age is an important factor in antiques, we find).

We do have some new items, like our range of soaps, candles, cards and artworks.

We hunt high and low for industrials, rurals, primitives, collectables, vintage, antiques and brocante. Our customers always comment on the quality of what we have ... it really is the good stuff.

Just looking at the shelves now, I can see a carved elm dairy bowl, a rare piece of art glass, some Art Deco china, a Lucie Rie bowl, Victorian glass cake stands, a pile of linen grain sacks, brass fire dogs, galvanized buckets, about 600 hand made flower pots, a Winterhalder and Hoffmeier cuckoo clock, scales of every description, a set of Yates pewter measures, a pepper mill by Hukin and Heath, a Robert Harper silver toast rack, twenty or thirty Welsh blankets, several iron door stops, a Meisen tea set, milk churns, butter churns, Georgian chairs, a wealth of stuff from France, a Samoan war club, a Jielde lamp, a pair of Singer machinists chairs, vintage bicycles, some railway lamps, a French parlour piano (how we got that on the shelf, I'll never know), a Regency card table, a couple of chaise longues, dough bins, enamel bread bins, several hat stands, manekins, ramekins, pipkins, something with Lalique written on it  ... oh and a cuddly toy (circa 1948).

Hopefully, that gives you some idea.

DANGER: WEB SITE IN PROGRESS

With well over three thousand items in stock, the build-up of our web site is a real work in progress. Gradually we are getting photographs done and items on line, so there is plenty more to come. We hope you'll keep checking back to see how we're doing.

We're also busy working on the beautiful old relic that is our Beckford home.  Last year, every inch of exposed timber (floors, stairs, all that) was hand cleaned using warm water techniques used to revive ancient temple timbers in Japan. No, it's true. They were then hand polished and scrubbed using the age old "on your hands and knees" method. Elbow grease - a concept pretty much shunned in the mid 20th century.

As we say, all a bit eccentric really!
