If you're struggling to unravel your Bohemian from your Beidermeier, thought Arts & Crafts was a stall at the Sunday market or that a Feberge egg was a new fangled GM food item, we can help.
We all had to start somewhere, and even the experts are still learning. So we decided to put together a basic intro to period styles and the antiques associated with them.
We aim to give you a sense of the time frame and a basic outline of where antiques fit into it. Of course we can't create experts in a few hours, and we are too humble to consider ourselves experts yet either. But we can guide and inspire, and send you away with a fresh interest and a new way of looking at the subject.
Join us on a Sunday from 11am to 3pm at Dalton House, Beckford and begin to make sense of the misty world of styles and antiques.
The cost is £120.00 per person and it's pre-book only. We take up to eight people per session.
A light lunch and drinks are included.
We can arrange transport from nearby travel hubs at a modest extra cost.
If you would like to make a weekend of it (one look at the area and you will certainly want to) we can help with accomodation, though we stress we are not travel agents. There is a good choice of local hotels and B&Bs some of which are a truly eccentric experience.
For Japanese visitors we provide a translation service and written material in Japanese. We generally do not mix Japanese and English speaking groups.
Learning about antiques is fascinating and fun, and an appreciation of items from our past is certainly life enhancing.
